What is a track code?
Track code (postal identifier, tracking number) - a unique code that allows you to monitor the movement of the postal item in the country / world.
According to the regulations of the Universal Postal Union, the track number (identifier of the mailing) consists of 2 Latin letters, 9 digits and 2 Latin letters indicating the country of the sender (example: LM123456789CN).
The first letter serves as an indicator of the type of departure.
The second letter is used to indicate the type of dispatch, for example: air, sea, railway or as a regular letter.
The last two letters indicate the country of origin.
Shipment type designation options:
“C” - ordinary parcel (more than 2 kg), tracking before delivery
“R” - small package (less than 2 kg), tracking until delivery
“L” - small packet (less than 2 kg), tracking prior to delivery, not wanted by the mail of the recipient country
"E" - express shipment (EMS), the second letter is ordinal, tracking before delivery
“V” - insured letter
“A” - small packet, not tracked by recipient country, not wanted by mail of recipient country
“U” - small packet, not tracked by recipient country, not wanted by mail of recipient country
“Z” - a small package, partial tracking by recipient country (only information about receipt at the recipient's post office)
Track numbers that start on LJ or LC are sent to USPS First Class Mail / USPS Priority Flat rate Envelope and it is impossible to track them.
